Community (volunteer) Roundups are 2-hour sessions for community members to donate their time, effort and skill to the mission and ministry of Too Far Out Farm LLC. TFO Farm Community Advisory Team (C.A.T.) Zoom Meeting

Calling all friends! In the interest of making our equine-assisted program a community-led effort, you are invited to apply to serve on the TFO Farm Community Advisory Team. Volunteer C.A.T. members may attend our monthly online video meetings to offer their insights and suggestions to the TFO Farm program development staff. Please let us know your interest by filling out and submitting this application form.


Generally speaking, we meet monthly in the winter months (Nov. - Mar.) by Zoom conference call. Please join us for the next TFO Farm Community Advisory Team meeting:

The 2023 FoR-HiM Horsemanship Programs have concluded successfully for the season!


The 2024 FoR-HiM Horsemanship Programs will begin in April 2024. FoR-HiM Programs consist of six weekly, 2-hour sessions with the TFO Herd and PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Deb Peterson.


COST: $480* - Includes six, weekly, 2-hour Equine-Assisted Learning (E.A.L.) & horsemanship sessions, all lesson handouts, TFO Farm swag, and an invitation to the 2024 Annual TFO Farm Horse Camp-out Weekend Retreat.


*TUITION ASSISTANCE:

The For-HiM Horsemanship Programs of TFO Family Ministries at Too Far Out Farm LLC may be subsidized by the contributions of private community members, local businesses and/or by the various FUNdraisers sponsored by TFO Farm LLC, throughout the year. Scholarship availability is dependant upon the support we receive from the community. If the cost is a hinderance, FoR-HiM Program applicants may be asked to help facilitate the FUNdraising in order to offset the costs associated with their participation in the FoR-HiM Horsemanship Programs.  For more information please call Debbie Peterson, Program Director at 814-795-2686.

Farm Work Day &

Spring Daffodil Fest

Who says you can't mix work & play? Farm folk do it all the time! You are invited to the TFO Farm Work & Spring Daffodil Fest!


The TFO Farm stable and grounds could use some TLC, so we will be getting together to spruce things up now that the new riding season is upon us. After the work is done, stick around and send for the rest of your family to celebrate the "Daffodil Fest" at 5pm:

  • BBQ Supper: Smith's hot dogs & Cowboy Beans!
  • Pony Rides for your favorite little people!
  • Corn Hole & Horseshoes for the big'ens!

  1. Work Party 2:00-5:00pm
  2. Spring Daffodil Fest 5:00-7:00pm (Work Day volunteers may invite family members or friends to join in on the Daffodil Fest portion of the day.)

2024 Summer Horse Camp-Out Retreat

The TFO Farm Summer Horse Camp-Out is our summertime premier event and the retreat EVERYONE looks forward to all year! The TFO Farm staff, donors, volunteers, students and their families & guests are invited to join the fun for the whole weekend or just jump in for some of the fun, open house style:



SAVE THE DATE IN 2024: We camp on the last full weekend in August at Two-Mile Run County Park, 371 Lockwood Lane, Franklin, PA 16327


This event will feature the following FREE activities:

 

  • Campfire fellowship nightly!
  • Knot-tying demos & workshops by TFO Farm's own, Mike Peterson.
  • Daily rides on the beautiful horse trails of Two-Mile Run County Park. Slots are limited, so these trail rides will be available to only 4-6 of our most committed students. Pre-registration for trail riding is required.
  • Supervised obstacle course & horsemanship practice during specified times throughout the weekend.
  • Sunday morning Cowboy Church!
  • We will be doing the food pot-luck style, so you may volunteer to provide a meal or part of a meal to help make our camp-life nourishing and flavorful!
