Thank you for letting us know of your interest in TFO Farm Community (volunteer) Roundups. There is no charge to participate. We believe that community input and involvement enhances the health & well-being of the TFO herd and the quality of our FoR-HiM community Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) programs!
At your Community Roundup shift, you will be assigned clerical tasks and/or barn chores appropriate to your skill level and physical fitness. You'll also encounter fun horsey adventures, as well as learn horsemanship and/or stable management skills. Many parents appreciate the work ethic and other life skills that their kids pick up while involving themselves in TFO Farm life. Come share your time, talent & skills at the TFO Farm Community Roundups.

HANDY TIP: Get a jump on the paperwork by filling out & submitting the online VOLUNTEER APPLICATION and the LIABILITY WAIVER on the VOLUNTEER Page of our website. If you prefer not to do the paperwork online, you may complete the forms when you come the first time to a Community Roundup.

Please come prepared to work. You will get dirty. Muck boots and warm socks are highly recommended. Dress for the weather. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who may be asked to help supervise the child at their Community Roundup shift. Calling all friends! In the interest of making our equine-assisted program a community-led effort, you are invited to apply to serve on the TFO Farm Community Advisory Team. Volunteer C.A.T. members may attend our monthly online video meetings to offer their insights and suggestions to the TFO Farm program development staff. Please let us know your interest by filling out and submitting this application form.
Generally speaking, we meet monthly in the winter months (Nov. - Mar.) by Zoom conference call. Please join us for the next TFO Farm Community Advisory Team meeting:

The 2023 FoR-HiM Horsemanship Programs have concluded successfully for the season!
The 2024 FoR-HiM Horsemanship Programs will begin in April 2024. FoR-HiM Programs consist of six weekly, 2-hour sessions with the TFO Herd and PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Deb Peterson.
COST: $480* - Includes six, weekly, 2-hour Equine-Assisted Learning (E.A.L.) & horsemanship sessions, all lesson handouts, TFO Farm swag, and an invitation to the 2024 Annual TFO Farm Horse Camp-out Weekend Retreat.
*TUITION ASSISTANCE:
The For-HiM Horsemanship Programs of TFO Family Ministries at Too Far Out Farm LLC may be subsidized by the contributions of private community members, local businesses and/or by the various FUNdraisers sponsored by TFO Farm LLC, throughout the year. Scholarship availability is dependant upon the support we receive from the community. If the cost is a hinderance, FoR-HiM Program applicants may be asked to help facilitate the FUNdraising in order to offset the costs associated with their participation in the FoR-HiM Horsemanship Programs. Thanks for letting us know you are coming to the Farm Work Party & Donut-n-Cider Fall Fest on Saturday, October 29th. We will work on farm maintenance projects between 2:00 & 5:00 pm, after which the Donut-n-Cider Fall Fest begins! Mike's making his famous chili too! And as the name of our event implies, we will enjoy some donuts & cider for dessert as we make our way to the campfire area to round out the evening. Feel free to invite your family & friends to either one or both parts of the day.

The TFO Farm Summer Horse Camp-Out is our summertime premier event and the retreat EVERYONE looks forward to all year! WHEN: Saturday, August 24th - Monday, August 26th (You may come for all or part of the weekend.)

We are planning this event to thank you for your support of TFO Family Ministries at Too Far Out Farm. You are welcome to bring family & friends to this retreat! We are hoping to offer a relaxing and fun get-away, therefore we are not trying to over-plan or follow strict schedules. Feel free to simply drop in for an hour or two and check out what's going on at any given moment OR come for the whole weekend and camp with us!
BE SURE TO REGISTER WITH MIKE OR DEB UPON ARRIVAL TO THE HORSE CAMP AREA!
SPECIFIC HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEKEND INCLUDE (Cost: $0. FREE FUN!):
We will be doing the food pot-luck style, so if you indicated a desire to provide a meal or meal supplies on your RSVP form, Debbie will be calling you to coordinate. Thank you for helping make our camp life nourishing and flavorful!

Human accommodations:
Overnight camping: If you wish to overnight camp, you will be responsible for bringing all equipment & supplies for your personal campsite.
Swimming, fishing, boating & mountain biking: Two-Mile Run County Park offers other opportunities for outdoor fun! Please note: The park charges a $4 fee per person (age 2 & up) to use the beach. See the park website for more details: https://www.co.venango.pa.us/171/Things-to-Do
Horse accommodations: We will be taking up to five horses with us to camp for you to enjoy. We will use the high line system provided by the park to constrain them. Please use horse sense when approaching and interacting with the horses. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of the children that you bring to camp.
Wanna help? We will need help setting up camp on Friday, Aug. 23rd at 4PM and help tearing down camp on Monday at 9:00am. Call Debbie at 814-795-2686 if you want to help with set-up or tear-down.
Weather: This retreat is rain or shine! In case of inclement weather, we will have access to a pavilion at the campgrounds. Other than that, make sure you dress for the weather.
