We offer Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL), TFO-style by teaching biblical principles of leadership and team work through horsemanship. Families, business or ministry teams and individuals learn from the horse in a way that is meaningful and applicable to their daily walk with Jesus. Lessons are facilitated by PATH, International certified therapeutic riding instructor, Deb Peterson. Deb shares the love, truth and grace of Jesus and her horses serve as master teachers.
Schedule a FREE , 2-hour Family Day at the Farm! Bring your family or your business/ministry team.
PLEASE NOTE: Your program facilitator, Debbie Peterson is a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) through PATH, Intl., as well as certified in Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). Also, the rider or their legal guardian is required to sign a liability waiver.
We serve adults, children and youth, age 8 and up.
Our students are exposed to a "whole horse" approach to natural horsemanship, as well as biblical leadership principles by PATH International certified instructor, Deb Peterson.
CONNECT WITH A HORSE!
Parents appreciate our unique approach to horsemanship, because we do more than focus on the mechanics of riding and performance. Connection is key! Our programs include equine-assisted learning (EAL) techniques that foster broader personal growth opportunities such as, leadership/teamwork development, self-discipline, self-esteem, healthy boundary setting and respect for self & others, along side learning how to ride and acquire other horsemanship skills.
Safety is a primary concern and comprehensive horsemanship skills are our goal with each and every student. Our teaching of natural horsemanship basics include, grooming, tacking, safe horse handling, ground work principles, riding, healthy horse care and maintenance.
These skills are acquired through connection with horses!
Additionally, we specialize in teaching children and adults with disabilities or those in recovery from life controlling hurts, hang-ups & destructive habits, addictions and mental illness, etc., but
we welcome all, including those whose life is unencumbered at the current moment.
PLEASE NOTE: Lessons are private (one rider per lesson). If you want to trailer in, lessons are also available on your own horse. All visiting horses must have current health papers, including documentation of negative coggins test. Also, if the rider is under age 18, their legal guardian is required to sign a liability waiver and remain on the property during the lesson. You may also opt to hire Deb to travel to your barn to give lessons on your horse, but a 0.50 per mile charge will be added to the price.
Your riding instructor, Deb Peterson is a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) through PATH, Intl. Deb is also certified by Greg Kersten, through coursework known as the O.K. Corral Series. EAL & EAP is the authentic equine-assisted work, which honors and integrates natural horse and herd behavior as a model for human mental and emotional health using the equine-assisted philosophies developed by Greg Kersten.
Currently, we have one primitive campsite available (for tents or small RV). No need to worry about nosey or annoying camp neighbors, because we only book one group at a time - YOURS! The campsite includes:
There is room for a rig if you want to bring your small RV, riding horses or ATV. We can accommodate up to four of your horses in our outdoor round pen as long as they get along with each other or you may "high-tie" them to your rig or trees on the site. (Sorry, no sheltered stalls or run-in sheds for the horses, as yet.) Trail riding on the back roads of Penn's woods delights many a visitor all four seasons of the year. Campers are invited, but not obligated to participate in farm life, including chores like feeding, mucking and sheep shearing (in season) during their stay.
PLEASE NOTE: All visiting horses must have current health papers, including documentation of negative coggins test. Also, campers are asked to sign a liability waiver.
