MIKE & DEB PETERSON
On January 1, 2005 we entered marriage, each with our own share of baggage. No strangers to heartbreak, carrying wreckage of the past that we were yet to wade through, we continue to walk out each day clinging desperately to the promises of God. We have been helped by God and His people through various church ministries like Celebrate Recovery, Freedom Fighters, and others.
The Lord Jesus is faithful to meet us where we are, to heal our inner brokenness, and break the chains that bind. With Isaiah 61 as their battle cry, we are "wounded healers."
HORSES
Our equine buddies, past & present
Junior arrived to Too Far Out Farm in 2007 at the age of 5 years old. He is now one of our most "senior citizens" and still going strong. In 2009 Wilson and Jasper (not shown) joined him at Too Far Out Farm, forming a herd of three. We called them the "Three Amigos." Sadly, Wilson passed on at the age of 27 on October 25, 2017. Jasper was rehomed shortly afterwards and is now delighting campers at WLD Ranch in Fairview, PA. Another former herd member, Clyde was donated to the TFO Family Ministries at Too Far Out Farm in 2017 by Beth Robertson. He is shown on this page with TFO volunteer, Jenna. Clyde has moved on to bless a former student of TFO Farm, at whose farm he will live out his "retirement" years. Glitter, the "freckle-face", shown on this page with Katelyn riding, arrived in January 2023. Filly, Faith is the youngest member of the TFO Herd, shown below giving Mike a hug. She arrived at the farm at the age of only 7 months in October of 2023. Titan was the latest addition to the herd, having arrived at Too Far Out Farm in September 2024. He was very ill and required quarantine, veterinary care and daily medical attention all winter. We rehabilitated him and the Lord brought him back from the brink of death. Titan has been recently purchased by TFO Farm volunteers, Steve & Cassy Nickell.

DOGS
The Prince of Dogs & his Sidekick, Madeline
Two canines currently serve at Too Far Out Farm as the official welcoming committee for new visitors and comforting support for the broken-hearted, as well as purveyors of happiness for all who are willing to receive it. They are a Border Collie named Prince and an Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix that we call Madeline (AKA, Maddie).
Prince was gifted to us as a nine-month old in 2021. A couple years later in 2023, Deb brought home his little sister, 8 week old Madeline. They are the dynamic duo of dogginess at Too Far Out Farm who delight residents, students and visitors, alike.

Sheep guards
Part Jack Russel Terrier, part Beagle, part comedian, Rosco patrolled the perimeter of the flock like a sentry. He was more suited for hunting, but when not chasing down the unwanted barn critters, he was quite content to follow Mike around and pretend to tend to the sheep. Rosco was hit by a car and passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020. We certainly do miss you, little buddy!
Rosco is just one that crossed the "rainbow bridge", after a lifetime of blessing us with their presence at Too Far Out Farm. The others are also pictured here. Each one contributed to our joy over the last 20+ years of farm life. All are dearly loved and sadly missed.
THE FLOCK
Sheep, sheep and more sheep!
We were blessed by Shepherd Jenn Phillips of The Bare Woolies Flock, Titusville PA in 2011 when she donated two lambs, Grace & Bella to the ministry at TFO Farm. God said, "Feed my Sheep" (John 21:17), so we did. We also bred them for several seasons and pictured here are some ewes (momma sheep) from a few years back. We no longer breed sheep and the flock has dwindled to two old ewes, Grace and Sadie.
THE TOO FAR OUT FARM VISION
Recovery principles and other relevant life lessons are offered through equine-assisted coaching, riding instruction, and Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) exercises. Lessons are delivered in three ways:
In group settings through one or more HORSE POWER HOUR sessions or through a FOUNDATIONS OF VISION retreat event,
Individually or with one or more of your family members through our FoR-HiM program,
Privately through one or more of our EAL COACHING sessions.
Our culture of Christian hospitality invokes a "come as you are" atmosphere, so that regardless of spiritual belief, ethnicity, gender, social status, physical/mental ability, sexual orientation, or educational achievement, all are welcome! Horses hold no bias and we aspire to the same. By integrating equine-assisted activities with biblical 12-step recovery and leadership principles, we create an environment that fosters emotional stability, mental clarity, physical fitness and spiritual development for our clients, and volunteers in a manner that glorifies God. You may not agree with everything we teach, but we PROMISE to tell you the TRUTH, as it has been revealed to us in the Holy Bible, and deliver it with as much GRACE as humanly possible. Our horses are honest, open and willing partners in this Christian ministry.
THE TOO FAR OUT FARM MISSION STATEMENT
TFO Farm, LLC reaches people with the gospel and love of Jesus Christ, helping them grow, heal and prosper in love toward one another through horsemanship and equine-assisted learning, as well as the musical/visual arts and other fun farm activities.
We build on Truth, walk in Faith and serve with Obedience.
